We focus on developing communication skills, self-confidence, and the ability to make informed decisions. Grades 5–9 are the time for basic subject study between the general description of competencies in elementary school and specialized education in high school.
Middle school (grades 5-9)
AP School is a distance learning high school with a unique format and methods for students in grades 5 through 9. We implement the NUS reform, so our main principle is that classes should be interesting for teenagers. We teach according to the state standard for basic secondary education. License, quality, practice, innovation, comfort – that’s what we’re all about.
We prepare middle school students for the future
Career guidance
The general course of study in grades 5–9 is to prepare our students for their career choices from an early age and help them discover their talents.
School for real life
Subjects are designed to provide practical benefits to students and teach them how to apply their knowledge in real-life situations.
Exam preparation
Even in the absence of the DPA, exam simulations help children prepare for the future NMT.
Confidence in skills
We develop soft skills: polite communication and the ability to work in a team.
Curriculum for grades 5–9
Comprehensive education that combines in-depth knowledge of standard subjects with our proprietary integrated courses.
Standard subjects
Students practice the material in teams. The teacher announces the conditions of the task to be completed within a certain time frame, and the teenagers work together. This is how they learn to work in a team — first under supervision, and then independently.
Debate club and the art of interaction
We create an atmosphere of real debate. The team must choose its spokesperson, discuss the issue—the topic of the lesson—and give a speech. This way, students learn to formulate their thoughts, analyze arguments, and present ideas.
Space colonies and creative thinking
This lesson takes place on an online platform. Teenagers are divided into teams and explore space in a simulation game. This way, they learn about the life of researchers and understand the boundlessness that surrounds them, visually, rather than from Discovery Channel films.
Innovative startups and the psychology of money
We practice financial literacy. Children play online Monopoly and several other adapted online board games. This will lay the foundation for understanding entrepreneurship and building personal capital.
Global challenges of the future and social innovation
A lesson-discussion on global issues. Children familiarize themselves with the material and present their views on the environmental, economic, and social situations in different countries. These skills are invaluable for the citizens of our country.
Teaching methods at AP School
Based on the principles of NUS. Approved by practicing teachers.
We turn “text” into educational cartoons and black-and-white drawings into 3D models.
Visual method
We present material adapted for students: articles with illustrations, rules with pictures. This way, more information is remembered.
Interactive method
We conduct team tasks, play games on the platform, and actively discuss the topic in a playful atmosphere. This is a method of association that engages several types of memory and does not “lose” knowledge from the head after the lesson.
Verbal method
The teacher never describes the topic dryly, but instead explains it, answers questions, and constantly repeats as needed. The student may forget part of the program, but they must understand what they know.
Learning formats in grades 5–9

Unique learning
The teacher is in front of the student on the full screen, just like in an offline lesson. They interact with the student using 3D models and other technologies. This activates visual and auditory memory.

Frequently asked questions about secondary school education
How do you help teenagers stay interested in learning?
We integrate practical elements into every subject. Students solve real-life problems in projects and simulations, and an online platform with quests and game plots keeps them engaged.
Is career guidance already available in secondary school?
Yes, career guidance begins in secondary school. We help students discover their talents and often host live streams with experts, which allows them to learn more about different fields and make informed choices about their future paths.
What subjects do students in grades 5–9 study at your school?
A full list of subjects from the standard curriculum and integrated disciplines. They vary in theme or content for each grade, as the needs of 5th graders are significantly different from those of 9th graders.
What is the workload in middle school?
The workload in distance learning from grades 5 to 9 is balanced and increases in accordance with age. We use interactive 3D environments and the Close to You format for easier learning, and lesson recordings are available for review, which helps regulate the pace.
Is there mentor or tutor support in grades 5-9?
Yes, every student has teacher support. Since our classes are not large, teachers have no problem functioning as homeroom teachers to monitor the progress of the whole group and each teenager individually.
How do you work with children in their teenage years?
We emphasize the development of communication and self-confidence. Children learn to make informed decisions, and subjects such as Debate Club and project activities help them successfully navigate the teenage years. Socialization at our school is quite effective, so adolescence does not become a depressing period in the lives of teenagers.
Is it possible to change the pace of learning in grades 5–9?
Yes, learning takes place on the parents’ terms. Accessible lesson recordings and extended materials allow students to review topics and work at their own pace, without stress.
What motivational tools are used in middle school?
In addition to the journal, we keep a ranking of results, so each student has the opportunity to see their progress, which is the best motivation. We hold raffles for valuable prizes among the leaders in the ranking.
