Responsibility should be learned from an early age: first, children are responsible for their school results, and then for their career.

AP School offers a distance learning program for students who are learning to be independent and take responsibility for their own achievements.

Who is distance learning suitable for?

Now it is not necessary to spend half the day at school, because students have access to distance learning—they study independently and only take tests with their teacher. Who needs this type of education?

Extracurricular activities

Students who are taking their first steps in their careers from an early age: actors, athletes, musicians, young scientists, working teenagers, and others whose professional activities do not leave time for traditional education.

Relocations

Children whose parents are forced to change their place of residence due to work conditions or military action. This form provides a stable, always-accessible place.

Abroad

For schoolchildren who do not want to lose touch with their home country. External studies at a Ukrainian school are a full-fledged educational program adapted for convenient independent study.

How external studies work for schoolchildren

Independent study

Theoretical materials are posted on the AP School online platform. There, students study theory from videos, textbooks, and manuals.

Knowledge assessment

To track school progress, there are traditional tests and final exams. Exams are held once a year.

Communication with teachers

Consultations are conducted by tutors and teachers in chat rooms, during individual online meetings, and via email.

Final grades

At the end of each year, we conduct final tests. We add the test results to the current test grades and calculate the arithmetic mean.

Pace of learning

Students determine the intensity themselves — this is the main condition of this form of learning. In the lower grades, it is quite difficult to maintain the pace, but over time, students begin to do it skillfully.

Advantages of external studies at AP School

Official certificate

AP School is a licensed general education lyceum. Graduates are issued a state-approved certificate of completion (11th grade) and basic (9th grade) secondary education.

Interactive

We overcome the problem of “monotonous learning.” Instead of regular classes, we have cartoons and documentary series, and instead of homework, we have quests.

Individual subjects

Development of soft and leadership skills, financial literacy, basics of entrepreneurship, elements of psychology, and other integrated disciplines.

Foreign languages

We guarantee that by the end of school, students will have a B2-C1 level of proficiency in English, German, or Polish.

Lesson recordings

Constant access to an online platform with lesson recordings, chat, teacher and tutor contacts, educational games, interactive materials, simulators, and testers.

Documents for enrollment

An application with the intention of studying as an external student. It is submitted in person by the student if they are of legal age, or by their parents/guardians if they are a minor.

If the student is transferring from full-time education, they must prepare documents confirming their previous education — a copy of their previous grade certificate and report card.

Identity document: a copy of their passport or birth certificate.

Consent to the collection and processing of personal data.

Consent to the publication of information about the external student.

Frequently asked questions about external studies

What does a typical day of external studies look like?

External students determine their own study schedule and pace, so each school day is different. The idea behind this form of education is to organize your own daily routine: allocate time for the school program and extracurricular activities.

How much time should be devoted to studying each week?

On average, at least 8-12 hours, but this should be based on the current workload and depend on the class, exams, semester, subject, and individual pace. Each student allocates as much time as they deem necessary.

When can you join the external program—only in September?

You can start studying in September and switch from full-time to external study at any time. To do this, you need to complete the paperwork and, ideally, explain why the student is changing the format so we can adapt the program to the pace that works best for them.

How is knowledge assessed?

In the external form, students take final exams at the end of each academic year. These are comprehensive tests that assess understanding of the program and check the knowledge and competence of external students at the same level as students in the regular form.

What documents will the child receive upon completion?

Upon completion of grades 9 and 11, graduates receive official state-approved certificates of basic and complete general education, i.e., diplomas, just like in non-distance schools. At the end of each year, students are given report cards with grades for their subject assessments.

What distinguishes AP School from homeschooling?

AP School provides ready-made materials, teacher support, and official assessments, as well as modern tools such as an online platform and access to interactive materials. This is not available in traditional homeschooling.
